Salary Range $20.90 to $43.16 Per Hour


JOB SUMMARY:
Monitor overall quality of machines, and component repairs performed by the Service Department. Maintain records of results and prepare reports. Promote and develop quality attitudes throughout the operating departments.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
• Monitors quality of all machines and components released for shipment.
• Train key service people to perform final test on completed machines.
• Compares results of pre-delivery inspections with field reports of any early hour (to 250 hours minimum) problems.
• Reviews monthly charges to Service Rework and Policy.
• Assists lead people in reducing these charges.
• Ensures that available tooling is complete, fully functional and accurate.
• Performs monthly Scrap Barrel Analysis.
• Work safely at all times. Adhere to all applicable safety policies. Comply with all company policies, procedures, and standards.

ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Reviews Service Reports for early hour defects and report them to the appropriate Caterpillar Plant PIQ coordinator.
• Provides feedback to the Empire service person when Caterpillar responds.
• Identifies Service training needs to improve work quality.
• Advises the appropriate Technical Communicator when chronic or serious design or manufacturing defects are found.
• Works within and promotes corporate values.

KNOWLEDGE SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
• Must be a motivated self-starter.
• Must be well versed in technology tools such as the Internet, Email, spreadsheet development, word processing programs, and database management.
• Ability to maintain consistent attendance to meet required scheduled hours.
• Must have interpersonal skills sufficient to professionally explain problems to management and service people.
• Must have technical knowledge and experience with Caterpillar equipment.
• Must be able to analyze a situation and prepare a clear, concise written report.
• Must be able to develop and maintain detailed records.
• Ability to maintain consistent attendance.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
• High school diploma or General Education Degree (GED). College degree preferred.
• Valid driver’s license.
• Previous quality control experience with Caterpillar products.
• Knowledge of Empire operations, procedures, and policies.
• Experience using Empire computer systems.
• Must be able to communicate (speak, read, comprehend, write) in English.
