About the role

The Zeta L&D Team is focused on building technical and non-technical training programs for various internal teams and technical training programs for external customers. We are a fast-paced team that thrives on delivering outstanding results. This individual will be a member of our Custom Learning Solutions Team within L&D. We are looking for a Sr. Instructional Designer who is passionate about learning and development and excels at delivering high-quality learning experiences that enable the learner to achieve the desired learning outcome in a human-centered and goal-oriented way. This individual is highly skilled in learning technology and will help to create and manage engaging and impactful learning solutions. The ideal candidate is someone who can organize and prioritize work and is passionate about troubleshooting to ensure learners have a positive and meaningful learning experience. 

Essential Responsibilities

  • Collaborate creatively with Senior Learning Experience Designer on training projects and initiatives.
  • Primary system administrator for creating and maintaining digital learning programs within the Learning Management System.
  • Coordinate with Custom Learning Solutions Team to gather system/platform technical requirements, determine functional and reporting design needs, and ensure a successful user experience with the Learning Management System.
  • Oversees the deployment and management of learning programs within the LMS, ensuring that all content is designed, functioning, and integrated to fully meet learner needs.
  • Collaborate in needs analyses process for incoming training requests.
  • Design and develop creative and innovative learning content for blended training programs; including creating exercises, activities, job aids, assessments, and infographics that enhance the learning process, as well as developing engaging animations, ILTs/VILTs, and eLearning courses.
  • Conduct Train the Trainer sessions for ILTs and VILTs and create all supporting materials.  
  • Analyze and evaluate existing training materials to identify areas for improvement and make recommendations to increase the quality and effectiveness of learning content.
  • Work with subject matter experts to build high-quality learning curriculums, including creating clear and measurable performance-based learning goals and objectives, organizing, sequencing, and writing content, and building training frameworks.
  • Gather learning, engagement, and performance metrics to help evaluate the effectiveness and business impact of implemented learning solutions.  
  • Proven aptitude for creating instructional content for sales, product, strategy, and operations audiences. Ability to connect the dots in a highly matrixed and complex organization.
  • Collaborate with other technical admins and vendors to ensure optimal performance and delivery of learning solutions.
  • Manage projects to a timeline, providing regular status updates.
  • Support other special L&D tasks and projects as needed. 

Desired Characteristics/Qualifications

  • BS or MA degree in instructional design, educational technology, or a similar field.
  • 5+ years of experience in learning technology and instructional design.
  • Expertise in Articulate 360 (Storyline 360, Rise, and Review), Camtasia, and Snagit.
  • Expertise with Learning Management Systems (e.g. Docebo, WorkDay Learning, Cornerstone, etc.).
  • Experience with Adobe Creative Cloud, Vyond, and Piktochart.
  • Strong proficiency with recent versions of Microsoft Office including Teams and SharePoint preferred.
  • Experience developing training for technical and non-technical teams including customer facing groups (e.g., sales, customer success, professional services, etc.).
  • Proven effectiveness in collaborating, negotiating, and interviewing business partners and subject matter experts to solicit required learning content.
  • Strong ability to be flexible with changing priorities, deliverables, and deadlines. 
  • Experience creating effective copy, instructional text, audio scripts, and video scripts.
  • Excellent verbal, written, proofreading, and editing skills.
  • Effective communicator with internal team, stakeholders, and SMEs.
  • Commitment to producing high-quality, cutting-edge deliverables, paying high attention to details. 
  • Ability to coordinate projects, including creating timelines and meeting deadlines.
  • High degree of initiative with the ability to work independently and in a team environment.
  • A portfolio with examples of previous work (e.g., SCORM compliant) is required.
