Maintenance Scheduler

Position Overview

Novelis recycling in Guthrie, KY, is currently seeking a Maintenance Scheduler to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for coordinating and scheduling maintenance activities to ensure safe and efficient execution, optimize plant equipment performance and availability, and improve workforce productivity and quality. This involves identifying potential delays and obstacles and ensuring proper coordination of machine time, parts, and labor.

 

The Maintenance Scheduler will be responsible for using and coordinating the CMMS program (SAP) for the site and will act as the liaison between production and maintenance departments. The successful candidate must keep accurate records and files for analysis and reporting purposes and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements. This position involves working closely with Maintenance Technicians to improve reliability, ensure employee safety, and reduce costs.

 

Responsibilities & Qualifications

Responsibilities:

• Assemble weekly maintenance work schedule
• Track and report schedule compliance weekly
• Conduct weekly schedule review with unit leadership
• Maintain monthly work outlook
• Ensure efficient use of equipment downtime
• Provide support in obtaining driven quotations (bid walks) and writing requisitions for services
• Coordinate contractor work and receive services
• Assist in procuring parts and materials
• Work closely with Maintenance Planner and support as needed
• Work with Procurement to maintain contractor safety compliance and labor rates
• Understand the proper use of work orders, priorities, scheduling, etc.
• Control costs associated with work projects
• Ensure that all safety procedures and policies are followed in the work orders
• Assist with Reliability and Predictive Maintenance programs.

Minimum Qualifications:

• HS Diploma or GED
• 3 or more years of work experience in an industrial setting
• Excellent planning and organizational skills
• Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
• Demonstrate advanced digital literacy
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel
• Experience with 3rd party CMMS programs
• Good administrative and mathematical skills with the willingness to handle paperwork
• Ability to coordinate and prioritize workload; handle multiple tasks at once without sacrificing attention to detail
• Flexible and able to operate in a fast-paced environment
• Desire to take the initiative and develop a proactive relationship with employees through follow-up, understanding their needs, and encouraging collaboration
• Work successfully without close supervision

Preferred Qualifications:

• SAP proficiency
• Experience as an industrial maintenance technician
• Ability to read electrical and mechanical shop drawings
• Previous Maintenance Scheduling Experience
• Knowledge of Aluminum Recycling Equipment
• Knowledge of OSHA PSM (Process Safety Management)

Novelis’ Guthrie facility is located in Guthrie Kentucky approximately 30 minutes from the Tennessee state line near Clarksville Tennessee and Hopkinsville Kentucky.
