  • Participate in trade studies, threat-risk analyses, and system security trade-offs under supervision; support decomposition and allocation of security requirements into system design.

  • Work under the guidance of senior engineers to assist in verification, testing, and validation of security implementations, including vulnerability assessments, and security control validations using appropriate tools.

  • Collaborate within multidisciplinary teams (hardware, firmware/software, system integration, program management) to integrate security requirements into overall system design and development.

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree with 2 years of professional experience – OR – Master’s degree with 0 years of professional experience

  • Demonstrated academic coursework, project work, or internship exposure in at least one of these domains: systems engineering, digital electronics design, embedded systems, software/firmware development, systems integration & test.

  • Ability to obtain DoD Government Secret Security Clearance

  • US Citizen

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills; ability to work collaboratively in team environments.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Coursework or experience in embedded systems, digital electronics, firmware, or avionics/hardened military electronics.

  • Familiarity with model-based systems engineering (MBSE), system architectural modeling, and system design lifecycle (requirements → design → implementation → test/integration).

  • Some exposure (academic or internship) to cybersecurity, software assurance, secure coding, or secure system design.

  • Demonstrated ability or interest in system security integration under regulated/classified / DoD-style programs.

  • Basic understanding of system test, integration, and verification processes for complex defense systems (electronics, embedded, software, hardware).
