This position is based in Ithaca, New York, however, the successful applicant may perform this role remotely anywhere within the United States. Please note this position will require occasional travel, approximately 3 times a year. The New York Convenience of employer guidelines require New York State individual tax reporting and withholdings for this position. Additional individual state income tax filings may also be required if working temporarily outside New York State.

As Cornell University’s online learning unit, eCornell delivers online professional certificate courses to individuals and organizations around the world. Courses are personally developed by Cornell faculty with expertise in a wide range of topics, including data analytics, management, marketing, human resources, leadership, and STEM. Students learn in an interactive, small cohort format to gain skills they can immediately apply in their organizations, while earning a professional certificate from Cornell University. eCornell has offered online learning courses and certificate programs for 15 years to over 130,000 students at more than 2,000 companies.
Position Summary
Provide leadership and supervision for learning consultants who are focused on the development and support of corporate partnership programs. Employ creative problem-solving skills to handle difficult situations in order to ensure strong customer relations are established and maintained. Support Director in implementing strategic initiatives.
Lead and manage a portfolio of new and ongoing programs to assist clients in achieving their business strategic objectives through educational solutions. Grow and maintain our customer base by assisting clients in the implementation process, technical integration with corporate learning portals, presenting best practices, and rolling out the online learning programs. Leverage opportunities for building key account relationships by gaining insight into client needs, including having a thorough understanding of the market and our products.
What you will do:
Leadership and supervisory responsibilities include, but are not limited, to the following:
Independently troubleshoot complex customer issues and implement solutions using sound decision making.
Foster high-level client relationships, using sound judgement to influence and accommodate as appropriate
Support Director in implementing strategic initiatives.
Implement and ensure compliance with systems, policies, and procedures.
Coach and engage staff to accomplish department objectives.
Manage staff performance and workload. Organize and monitor work processes, delegate, and establish work priorities. Plan, monitor, and appraise staff job results.
Lead staff development opportunities that align with our organizational succession planning strategies.
Lead recruitment strategies, outreach, and selection of strong talent; lead the orientation and training of new employees.
Learning consultant responsibilities include, but are not limited, to the following:
Identify professional executive education development needs and work with program directors to propose appropriate solutions to potential corporate-client students.
Partner with sales and client contacts to develop targeted professional executive education development, and eLeaming programs to align with client competencies and training priorities.
Assess and identify training development needs to align with client strategic learning priorities and initiatives to address performance gaps.
Consult with client to define and document recommended technical integration approach.
Implement and provide account management services for the professional development solutions within an assigned territory, achieving quarterly and annual client renewal quotas.
Coordinate client program implementation, delivery, orientation and ongoing support to ensure timely project launch and customer satisfaction.
Deliver effective presentations to client program participants.
Develop and oversee customer retention campaigns
