Unit Secretary – Magee Rehabilitation, Jefferson Health

Join the team at Magee Rehabilitation, where we are committed to patient- and family-centered care. As a Unit Secretary, you will play an important role in keeping the unit running smoothly while supporting patients, families, and the healthcare team.

What You’ll Do:

  • Welcome and assist patients, families, visitors, and staff.

  • Support the care team by answering phones, managing data entry, and keeping patient records organized.

  • Coordinate admissions, discharges, patient transport, and off-unit testing.

  • Partner with the Charge Nurse to help manage unit flow and communication.

  • Assist during emergency codes by quickly contacting responders and gathering equipment.

  • Troubleshoot minor equipment issues and monitor supplies to support staff needs.

What We’re Looking For:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.

  • 1+ year of clerical/secretarial or healthcare support experience preferred.

  • Strong communication and organizational skills.

  • Knowledge of medical terminology a plus.

  • Compassionate, professional, and eager to be part of a collaborative team.

Schedule:

Covering or picking up open shifts. The weekdays would be either 7a-5pm or 7a-7p. The weekend would only be 12hr shifts (7a-7p).
