Position Description
Performs basic design work and calculations. Performs field work; uses automated systems. Design activity is overseen by a licensed professional engineer or registered architect who has final approval authority for projects. Employees at this level follow standard practices that do not require frequent supervision of details.

A Day in the life of a Drafter I may include learning and being responsible for:
•Drafting designs
•Field investigation
•Plan review
•Creating funding proposals
•Providing status updates on projects with TxDOT Leadership
•Meeting with subject matter experts on plans and designs
•Other duties as assigned
