About you and this role
Dow has an exciting opportunity for a Maintenance Electrical Technician located in Plaquemine, LA. The Maintenance Electrical Technician provides technical expertise to support Work Coordinators and Schedulers in the safe and effective execution of electrical work. This role participates in the installation, acceptance testing, commissioning, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of complex electrical systems, including switchgear, electrical cabinets/buses, breakers, generators, and other related equipment.
In addition, this role mentors contract electricians within the assigned Maintenance area, as needed.
Responsibilities
- Repair, maintain, install, and troubleshoot plant electrical equipment, including diagnosing failures, replacing defective components, documenting failure analyses, and verifying proper sizing of electrical components and parts.
- Read and interpret electrical schematics, logic diagrams, loop diagrams, single‑line diagrams, and auxiliary circuits associated with equipment.
- Create and follow hazard assessments, review job packages to ensure work can be executed safely, perform work in accordance with Safe Work Permit requirements, and specify, comply with, and verify equipment suitability for hazardous area classifications per classification drawings.
- Execute work within established Maintenance Work Processes and assist in resolving issues related to planning, scheduling, and work execution.
- Assist with planning, prioritizing, and scheduling maintenance activities in coordination with planners, work coordinators, and operations, and coordinate, specify, requisition, and install parts and equipment.
- Support a strong procedure‑use culture through field use, review, revision, and development of procedures, participate in field interactions and procedure audits as requested, and provide influential leadership within the Dow team and contractor workforce.
Required Qualifications
A minimum of a High School Diploma or GED, AND one of the following:
Associate’s degree or higher in Electrical Technology/Electronics from an accredited institution
Technical diploma in Electrical Technology/Electronics from an accredited institution
Three (3) or more years of relevant military experience
Three (3) or more years of experience in an industrial electrician role
Ability to work a day shift, 4/10 schedule.
Willingness to work rotating weekend call‑out, holdover overtime, call‑ins, and extended 12‑hour shifts during plant turnarounds.
Valid U.S. driver’s license.

A minimum requirement for this U.S. based position is the ability to work legally in the United States. No visa sponsorship/support is available for this position, including for any type of U.S. permanent residency (green card) process.
Preferred Qualifications
Five (5) or more years of experience as an Industrial Electrician in plant maintenance.
