Pom Varsity Head Coach - Adjunct - 2025-26

Mission:  To assist Christian parents by helping equip students to embrace biblical truth, strive for academic excellence, and model Christ-like leadership to influence their homes, churches and communities for Christ.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Instruct dancers in the fundamental skills, strategy, and physical training necessary for them to realize a degree of individual and team success
• Provide instruction that will lead to the formation of moral values, a strong work ethic, responsibility, teamwork, sportsmanship, self‐discipline, leadership, and self‐confidence
• Maintain discipline and work to increase morale and cooperation with other teams and performance groups within the school community
• Supervise practices, games, and team trips
• Stay up-to-date on knowledge of the technical aspects and trends within the Pom world, and be willing to continue to learn and examine new ideas pertinent to Pom or to coaching in general
• Oversee the budget and purchasing for the Pom program
• Maintain inventory of uniforms and equipment
• Work with the Director of Fine Arts and other administration for scheduling needs
• Implement and enforce policies with parents and players to address issues or concerns
• Update the Director of Fine Arts frequently during season about any issues, concerns, or highlights

Schedule:

• Pom Squad practices every other day during 1st period (between 7:30 – 9:45am) during the school year (August through May); sometimes as early as 7:00 am and occasionally after school practices for special events.
• Must be available on Fridays throughout the fall season to support football games and pep rallies.
• Competition season runs from early February through March.
• The month of April is tryouts.
• May through August consists of Pom camp.

Qualifications/Skills:

• Ability to organize and supervise a Pom program/team
• Preferred previous Pom/Dance coaching experience
