Surgical Tech Trainee
The surgical technician trainee can perform duties defined for a surgical technician under the supervision/direction of a Certified Surgical Technician (CST), the operating room nurse, the SPD Manager, SPD technician, and/or Clinical Specialty Coordinator. The surgical technician trainee will also perform duties within the Sterile Processing Dept. under the supervision/direction of the SPD Tech, and/or the SPD Manager. The surgical technician trainee ensures provision of safe, competent care to all surgical patients.
• Must be currently enrolled in a surgical technician program
• Completion of first semester of surgical technician program
• BLS required
• CST required within 6 months after completion of surgical technician program
