The Role
The Scheduling Coordinator is responsible for coordinating and managing employee schedules for concessions and operational staff at Yankee Stadium. This role ensures that all events, including games, concerts, and special events, are adequately staffed while balancing operational needs, employee availability, and labor guidelines.
The Scheduling Coordinator works closely with operations leadership, HR, and union representatives to ensure efficient staffing coverage for a large, event-based workforce. This position requires strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to respond quickly to last-minute staffing changes in a fast-paced stadium environment.
Key Responsibilities – Event & Workforce Scheduling
- Create and manage staffing schedules for concessions and event operations based on game schedules, concerts, and special events.
- Ensure proper staffing levels across concession stands, suites, clubs, and premium areas.
- Coordinate scheduling for a large workforce, including seasonal and part-time employees.
- Adjust schedules in response to call-outs, no-shows, operational changes, and event needs.
Key Responsibilities – Employee Communication
- Communicate schedules, shift assignments, and updates clearly to employees and management.
- Respond to employee scheduling questions and emails professionally and in a timely manner.
- Facilitate shift swaps and coverage when needed to maintain operational staffing levels.
- Provide support and guidance to employees on scheduling procedures and expectations.
Key Responsibilities – Union & Compliance Support
- Support scheduling processes in accordance with applicable collective bargaining agreements, including those with 32BJ, Local 100, and Local 153.
- Monitor scheduled hours to ensure compliance with labor agreements and company policies.
- Assist HR and management in maintaining fair and consistent scheduling practices.
Key Responsibilities – Operational Coordination
- Partner with operations managers to forecast staffing needs for upcoming games and events.
- Collaborate effectively with managers and leads across multiple departments, including Operations, HR, and Food & Beverage, to ensure smooth scheduling coordination and staffing support.
- Assist with workforce planning for high-attendance games, playoffs, concerts, and large stadium events.
- Help maintain accurate staffing rosters and availability records.
Key Responsibilities – Administrative & Reporting
- Maintain scheduling systems and workforce management tools.
- Train staff on the scheduling system and scheduling procedures as needed.
- Track attendance, tardiness, and callouts for reporting purposes.
- Provide labor reports and staffing summaries to leadership.
- Support payroll by verifying scheduled hours and identifying discrepancies.
Qualifications – Education
- High School Diploma or GED required.
- Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Hospitality Management, or related field preferred.
Qualifications – Experience
- 1–3 years of scheduling, workforce coordination, or operations support experience.
- Experience in sports, hospitality, stadiums, or high-volume event environments strongly preferred.
- Experience working with unionized workforces is a plus.
