Our team creates world-class immersive digital experiences for the Company’s premier vacation brands including Disney’s Parks & Resorts worldwide, Disney Cruise Line, Aulani, A Disney Resort & Spa, and Disney Vacation Club. The DX Technology & Digital team is responsible for the end-to-end digital and physical Guest experience for all technology & digital-led initiatives across the Attractions & Entertainment, Food & Beverage, Resorts & Transportation, and Merchandise lines of business as well as other initiatives including the MyDisneyExperience and Hey, Disney!

The Lead Technical Project Manager is entrusted with the comprehensive management of highly complex and strategically significant projects/programs and aligning to PMO best practices.

What You Will Do

  • Alignment with strategic direction for the Project Management Office (PMO), ensuring project outcomes with overarching business goals.

  • Guarantees the integrity and accuracy of data for program-level reporting, enabling insightful analysis and informed decision-making.

  • Facilitates seamless communication and collaboration among cross-functional teams, fostering a culture of transparency and accountability.

  • Conducts comprehensive program analysis at both macro and micro levels to identify trends that could impact the ability to achieve financial objectives.

  • Leads execution and delivery of technical projects through full delivery life cycle ensuring project is delivered timely and on-budget

  • Works with engineering teams, including Software Engineers, Product Managers, Architects, and leadership to establish processes across all program areas that will ensure success on strategically prioritized projects and improve efficiency.

  • Defines, optimizes, and manages Agile project management ceremonies and processes for large project teams. Manage hardware/software procurement of assigned projects

  • Develops a program plan comprised of parallel projects and multiple project managers that collectively produce work that has significant business impact

  • Anticipates and proactively addresses challenges, ensuring program is progressing to meet business goals 

  • Creates governance practices and provides senior-level leadership oversight and control for the program

  • Implements fiscal practices and controls, authorizing, recording, and reporting on program expenditures & ROI

  • Develops infrastructure needed to support the program

  • Train, mentor and develop other Project Managers

Required Qualifications & Skills

  • Minim of 7 years of technical project/program management experience working with technical teams developing enterprise class solutions

  • Technical aptitude:

    • Understanding of Cloud, APIs, services, database technologies, technologist roles and responsibilities, capabilities & platform dependencies, software development lifecycle, engineering and/or product development

    • Influence and negotiation, communication, professional maturity & organizational savvy, relationship building, dependency mapping

    • Hands-on experience with practices such as Agile, Lean, Kanban, Waterfall as well as extensive experience with pragmatic blending of styles to facilitate collaboration and delivery

    • Deep understanding of Agile technical practices

    • Excellent ability to understand architectural and technical aspects of projects

    • Experience managing large budgets

  • Tools:

    • Office productivity software, including Microsoft suite, Keynote, Smartsheet,

    • Project management software, including MyPPM (Clarity), MyJira

    • Reporting tools, including Tableau, PowerBI

Preferred Qualifications

  • Project Management Professional (PMP) Certification

  • Agile Certifications ie CSM; ACP; CPO; SAFe; LeSS

Required Education

Bachelor’s degree and/or equivalent work experience
