As the receptionist/admin assistant you will be supporting a research study for a home use medical device. Covering the front reception desk your duties will include welcoming participants (patients, caregivers) attending the study throughout the day, settling them in prior to their study session, ensuring all consent form are promptly completed and overseeing the study schedule. Around these duties, you may also assist with general support for the study team and complete light housekeeping duties to ensure that areas are clean for participants.

Key Responsibilities

• Reception duties:
  • Greeting participants (patients, caregivers) who are attending the facility for a research study.
  • Prompting and assisting participants to fill in study consent forms.
  • Ensure that participants are handed over to the correct study nurse trainer.
  • Attentively follow the study schedule to ensure the correct participant has arrived.
  • Call the recruiter to report no-shows and keep study team updated as to who has attended etc.
  • Order lunches for study team etc.
• General support (between participant arrivals):
  • Light housekeeping duties (emptying bins, replenishing toiletries).
  • Assisting the study team with stock counts of study materials etc.

Requirements

Requirements/Qualifications

• Fluent in English: spoken and written.
• Competent with computers, making calls and using an excel spreadsheet.
• As you will be the first person the participants will meet, it is important that you are warm, welcoming, and approachable.
• Patients attending have chronic kidney disease and are on dialysis, therefore are prone to being tired, mobility issues etc. Patience and compassion is paramount, special attention is required whilst they are in reception to ensure that they are safe.
• Follow COVID precautions to keep participants and site staff safe (wearing PPE such as masks).
• Flexibility – Study sessions may alter from the original schedule. It is important that reception is covered and can be adapted based on schedule changes.
