Job Description

AECOM is seeking an Urban/Landscape Design Intern to be based in Manhattan, NY.

This position is expected to begin in July 2023.

In this role, you will work on coastal resiliency and climate adaptation infrastructure, multi-scale public landscape, and urban design projects. Produce community communication tools such as presentation graphics and physical models of design ideas. Assist in the preparation of communication tools at the direction of project design leads via written and verbal instructions. Develop data driven narratives for the communication of project components. Complete technical and administrative activities with employees in the Landscape Architecture and Urban Design Studio as well as with other disciplines and other departments. Perform research for onsite specific materials and conditions. Perform data collecting for the purposes of the development of design ideas within a creative and collaborative studio design environment. Prepare design presentation graphics, renderings, boards for presentation, and physical models.

The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:

• Produce community communication tools such as presentation graphics and physical models of design ideas.
• Utilize graphic design software for consolidation of data and presentations.
• Prepare community engagement graphics at the direction of project design leads via written and verbal instructions.
• Develop cohesive design narratives for the communication of project components. 

Qualifications

Minimum Requirements:

• Must be pursuing a degree in Landscape Architecture and/or Urban Design, or related field
• Must have completed one year of study 

Preferred Qualifications:

• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite

• The hourly range for this position is $21.00 - $27.00
