Licensed Veterinary Technician

VCA Jones Road Animal Hospital is looking to add a new team member to our family. Located in the Northwest side of Houston, with easy access to 290 & Beltway 8. We are a multi doctor practice (5-6 doctors), fast paced, progressive hospital that offers optimal patient care. Position starts at $20.00/ hour + but is ultimately determined based on experience.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

• Venipuncture
• Catheter placement
• Radiology
• Anesthesia monitoring
• Physical examinations and patient assessment
• Surgical preparation and assisting
• Dentistry
• Laboratory work
• Pharmacy
• Patient recovery
• Compassionate care for hospitalized patients

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Must have documented previous experience
• Hold a current RVT license
• Must have surgery experience
• Flexibility in hours including but not limited to evenings, weekends and holidays
• Customer service skills
• Working knowledge of computers
• Excellent communications skills
• Capable of being cross-trained as receptionist and kennel assistant
• Team player willing to learn new techniques and treatments
• This a Day Shift position
