As a multi-discipline firm, Isett provides a full range of engineering and consulting services, including civil, structural, mechanical, electrical, plumbing, environmental, geotechnical, and municipal engineering, surveying, landscape architecture, code enforcement, plan review, construction management, construction materials testing, and grant writing services to clients throughout the Mid-Atlantic region.
 

Our Code Services and Plan review team is looking for a dedicated and detail-oriented individual to join our team as a part-time Health/Food Safety Inspector. We anticipate the hours varying from 1-2 days per week, with the possibility of additional work in similar fields for the right candidate.


This role is crucial in ensuring the safety and well-being of our community by conducting thorough inspections of food establishments.


Job Responsibilities:

  • Conduct comprehensive inspections of restaurants, bars, stores, and other food-related establishments to verify compliance      with the Pennsylvania Food Code and local ordinances.
  • Identify and document health code violations, providing clear and actionable recommendations for corrective measures.
  • Prepare detailed inspection reports, including photographs and other relevant documentation.
  • Issue, renew, suspend, and revoke eating and drinking licenses as required.
  • Collaborate with the Pennsylvania State Health Department and Department of Agriculture.
  • Maintain accurate records, files, and electronic data related to inspections and licensing.
  • Effectively communicate with establishment owners, managers, and employees regarding inspection findings and corrective      actions.
  • Respond to inquiries and complaints from the public in a professional and timely manner.

Requirements

  • Certified in Pennsylvania Food Serve Safe.
  • Working knowledge of food safety regulations and best practices.
  • Ability to conduct thorough and objective inspections.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Excellent organizational and time management abilities.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Current valid driver's license.
  • Able to obtain Act 134, Act 151 and Act 114 clearances.
