Job Description

Our Direct-to-Consumer (DTC) portfolio is a powerhouse collection of consumer-first brands, supported by media industry leaders, Comcast, NBCUniversal and Sky. The Embedded Devices R&D team is exploring opportunities to provide a best in class experience to NBCUniversal’s suite of direct to consumer applications. The team focus’ on gaming consoles, televisions, set-top boxes, among other devices. In this role a team member will contribute to the video playback technology ideas and implementations.

How you will make an impact:

  • Brainstorming sessions on graphics technology opportunities
  • Bringing proof of concept work to life on a wide variety of platforms
  • Implement a proprietary OpenGL ES2.0 abstraction over a variety of graphics APIs including DirectX12, Metal, and other gaming console APIs.
  • Port GLSL shaders for use in the proprietary OpenGL ES 2 abstraction.
  • Implement compute pipelines across devices for optimal image rendering.

Qualifications

  • 5-7 years experience in graphics using OpenGL ES, Direct X, Cg, Vulkan, or Metal.
  • C/C++ experience
  • Experience with HLSL shaders, pixel, vertex & compute, along with the compilers fxc & dxc
  • Familiar with the tools required to debug display & rendering issues
  • Use of Windows as a primary development environment
