How You’ll Make an Impact 

The Business Operations Intern – Sales & Estimating serves as a key liaison between customers and internal departments, supporting aerospace manufacturing programs within a CNC precision machining environment. This role combines critical functions from both Customer Service and Estimating, providing comprehensive administrative and operational support for quoting activities, order management, and customer engagement.

This role requires strong communication, organizational skills, and attention to detail to ensure timely responses, accurate documentation, and successful coordination of customer and quoting activities. The ideal candidate thrives in a fast-paced, team-oriented setting and demonstrates professionalism and initiative.  

What you’ll be doing as a Business Operations Intern – Sales & Estimating:

• Working a Full-time, onsite position at our Simi Valley, CA location.
• Serve as a primary point of contact for customer communications; route inquiries and follow up with internal teams as needed.
• Support estimating activities by gathering and organizing RFQs, technical drawings, and specifications.
• Input and track RFQs, POs, and Change Orders in the ERP system (e.g., JobBoss); to ensure timely acknowledgments.
• Create and maintain accurate quote folders, logs, and contract review tools.
• Coordinate with internal departments (e.g., Engineering, Purchasing, Production, Quality) to ensure quote accuracy and project readiness.
• Assist in the preparation of quote packages including formatting, printing, and compiling documents, as needed.
• Interface directly with customer buyers to clarify requirements, provide order updates, and support resolution of issues.
• Support internal review meetings by scheduling, preparing materials, and capturing documentation.
• Perform general administrative duties including document filing, scanning, formatting, and basic reporting.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications (Education, skills, and experience):

• Associate’s degree in business or equivalent combination of education and relevant experience.
• 2+ years of customer service experience, ideally in a manufacturing or aerospace environment.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills; able to draft professional emails and correspondence.
• Highly organized with the ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office and experience with ERP/MRP systems (e.g., JobBoss).
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.

Preferred Qualifications (Education, skills, and experience):

• Experience working in an aerospace CNC machining or manufacturing environment.
• Familiarity with quoting, shipping/receiving, or quality control processes.
• Previous experience supporting project management or program coordination.
• Strong interpersonal skills and customer-first mindset.
