Nebraska Medicine is seeking an EEG Assistant to join our team in a vital monitoring role. This is a sedentary role, monitoring EEG readings for our patients, ensuring the integrity of the monitoring and alerting nursing staff when immediate attention is needed. You’ll primarily work independently, focusing on identifying any issues with the EEG system or patient behavior changes, without direct involvement in interpreting brain waves. Schedule:
Part-Time, 24 hr/wk
Variable Days, Monday - Sunday
2nd Shift: 3:00 PM to 11:30 PM

Duties: EEG/Neurodiagnostic Assistant
This role involves assisting with neurodiagnostic testing by observing EEG video recordings, monitoring testing integrity, managing emergencies, and addressing equipment issues, including coordination with staff and vendors for maintenance. Responsibilities include training new personnel, coordinating equipment and supplies, and maintaining a clean and functional work environment. Adherence to organizational policies, regulatory standards, and safety protocols is essential, alongside maintaining focus on patient care during shifts. Additional duties may be assigned to support operational and quality objectives.
Required Qualifications: EEG/Neurodiagnostic Assistant
• High school education or equivalent required.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office, Excel, Word, and Outlook required.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification within one month of transfer or hire required, must be from an American Heart Association (AHA) endorsed program (effective for new hires starting January 1, 2023 or later).
Preferred Qualifications: EEG/Neurodiagnostic Assistant
• Six months work experience in a health care environment preferred.
• Hospital patient monitoring experience preferred.
• Graduate of a certified nursing associate program preferred.
• Experience with nursing call system preferred.
