Senior Data Engineer (f/m/d) 

 

YOUR TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES
 

• You will develop strategies to identify relevant areas of data to simplify decision-making processes
• You define strategies and development guidelines for the main data platforms in collaboration with the data architect and ensure the implementation of efficient data access strategies for different raw data sources, both on-premises and in cloud-based environments
• You will also be responsible for driving constant process improvements to automate manual processes, making data more available, and overhauling the infrastructure to increase scalability
• You build the optimal data pipeline architecture and infrastructure for extracting, transforming, and loading (ETL) data from a wide range of data sources, using various state-of-the-art big data technologies
• You will work in a hybrid cloud environment that provides methods and tools for processing data, and will be responsible for the introduction and continuous improvement of sustainable, efficient, scalable and adaptable data processes
• You will support the continuous integration process (CI) and the corresponding infrastructure - analyses of large complex data sets and models to generate knowledge and build suitable data models
• You will be responsible for the collaboration on the data warehouse and the continuous improvement of the ELT and ETL processes for the relevant data lakes and data warehouses Digital
• The development of semantic technologies and knowledge graphs using appropriate methods and technologies such as linked data, RDF, triple stores, graph databases, is also part of your tasks with the aim of improving findability, access and multiple use

 
WHO YOU ARE
 

• You have successfully completed a university degree (Master's or PhD) in Computer Science, Computational Biology/Chemistry (or equivalent scientific degree) with experience in the life sciences, natural sciences or engineering fields
• You bring several years of experience in the development and operation of data platforms
• You bring experience in data modeling and architectural design
• You have experience in integrating data sources into a data platform and building data pipelines
• You have very good written and spoken English, knowledge of German is an advantage, but not mandatory

 

The position can be filled in Germany or the USA.
