Senior Engineer

Shipt, Inc. seeks a full-time Senior Engineer. Develop smarter ways to connect with shoppers, optimize intelligence and maximize operational success. This position requires a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Electronics Engineer, Engineering, or related field (foreign equivalent accepted) and 5 years of experience in proffered position or similar role (e.g., Software Developer, Software Engineer, Application Developer, Web Developer). Work experience must also include at least 3 years of experience with the following: (1) applying functional and object-oriented paradigms; (2) designing and interacting with complex persisted data models and message queuing technologies; (3) identifying and improving poor performing code or database queries; (4) designing RESTful APIs in micro-services or distributed architectures; (5) at least one of the following programming languages: Python, Golang, or Java; (6) open-source software and dependency management; and (7) implementing multi-threaded or asynchronous programming patterns. This position is fully remote and may telecommute from any location in the U.S. Company HQ located in Birmingham, AL. Limited travel to company’s offices for work reasons may be needed.
