Position Summary:

As a Senior Sales Manager at Hotel Valencia Texican Court, you will play a pivotal role in driving revenue growth and expanding our client base. The Senior Sales Manager will be responsible for developing and implementing sales & marketing strategies to maximize hotel bookings and meeting revenue targets. Your primary focus will be on generating group sales across all sales segments, including room bookings, banquets, and catering while maintaining strong relationships with clients and external partners. The Senior Sales Manager of Hotel Valencia Texican Court leads an internal sales team, while responsible for communication across all interrelated departments and supports the properties marketing efforts. 
You must have a proven track record of achieving revenue targets, managing budgets, and fostering positive relationships with clients, internal stakeholders and experience leading a sales team through day-to-day responsibilities.  

Senior Sales Manager Job Responsibilities:

•    Develop and execute comprehensive sales strategies to achieve revenue goals and increase market share.
•    Identify and pursue new business opportunities through prospecting, cold calling, networking, and attending industry events.
•    Build and maintain relationships with corporate clients, travel agencies, event planners, and other key stakeholders.
•    Lead negotiations and contract discussions to secure profitable group bookings.
•    Collaborate with the marketing team to create compelling promotional campaigns and sales collateral to drive sales.
•    Conduct regular market analysis and competitor research to stay informed about industry trends and adapt sales strategies accordingly.
•    Collaborate with the Local and Regional Business Travel Sales Manager to identify new business opportunities.
•    Prepare and present sales reports, forecasts, and performance metrics to senior management.
•    Prepare, present and lead sales discussion on weekly revenue calls; provide all current group related revenues for pace, variance to budget and group forecast insight. 
•    Provide leadership and guidance to the sales team, fostering a culture of excellence, positivity, collaboration, and accountability.
•    Actively participate regularly in sales discussions and regular sales meetings.
•    Ensure adherence to hotel credit procedures and audit guidelines.
•    Coordinate cross-sell opportunities within the portfolio.
•    Maintain involvement with community organizations for client solicitation and relationship building.
•    Utilize Smith Travel Research data and financial reports for informed decision-making.
•    Identify key market segments, analyze trends, and implement innovative sales strategies to stay head of competitors. 
•    Collaborate with revenue teams to maximize room revenue, food and beverage revenue and room night goals.
•    Manage group inventory and cut-off dates according to contracts.
•    Responsible for maintaining lost business report files and tracking tentative and definite bookings. 
•    Attend trade shows and major events to promote new business opportunities.
•    Develop and maintain a strong network and presence in the local community.
•    Recruit, train, mentor, and give feedback to direct reports.
•    Stay updated on emerging technologies and trends in group sales and marketing.
•    Conduct performance appraisals and ensure compliance with company standards.
•    Ability to lead a sales team, motivate, coach, and counsel when needed. 
•    Ensure fair and equitable treatment of all employees.
•    Respond promptly to guest requests and ensure satisfaction.
•    Maintain a professional image and adhere to attendance guidelines.
•    Foster a positive and collaborative team approach within the sales team and across departments.
