Under the supervision of the Division Chief, the Physician Assistant (PA) coordinates the care of patients of the UCLA Orthopaedic Surgery Procedures. The PA provides comprehensive evaluation and treatment for patients. PA will assist the Orthopaedic surgeons with patient care and related follow up, coordinating with patient’s primary care and/or specialty physicians as needed. The PA will provide patient/family/caretaker education for both outpatient clinical, inpatient services, and will serve as the first assist in the OR as needed or as directed by the Division Chief. The PA will facilitate the transition from inpatient to outpatient care. Major functions include assisting physicians. The PA will facilitate collaborations with interdisciplinary team members and other Orthopaedic Surgery Department faculty and staff, as well as participate in clinic research projects.
Salary range : $74.95-$100.86/hourly
Job Qualifications

- CA PA License-required
- BLS Certification from American Red Cross or American Heart Association-required
- ACLS Certification from American Heart Association
- National Board Certification as PA-required
- Demonstrated skills in providing care to patients with medical and Orthopaedic needs-required
- A minimum of five years’ experience treating patients with Orthopaedic problems -Preferred
- Demonstrated skill in taking patient history, performing patient assessment, and developing a plan of care based on sound medical judgment-required
- Ability to perform non-operative Orthopaedic procedures, including injections -required
- Ability to provide education concerning care and treatment of Orthopaedic conditions to patients/families/caretakers-required
- Ability to work effectively with orthopaedic surgeons and other health team members to meet comprehensive needs of patients-required
- Ability to practice independently and to communicate closely and knowledgeably with physicians and staff-required
