Project Overview:

Bechtel is partnering with NextDecade to support their vision to provide the world access to lower carbon intensive energy with their Rio Grande LNG (RGLNG) project in Brownsville, Texas. RGLNG is a natural gas liquefaction and export terminal situated on a 984-acre site on the banks of the Brownsville ship channel. The first phase of the RGLNG project consists of three liquefaction trains, two storage tanks and one marine berth. At full capacity, the five-train facility will have a production capacity of 27 million tonnes per annum (MTPA).

Job Summary:

Responsible for integration of environmental issues and requirements into proposals, planning documents, permit applications, design specifications and criteria, construction plans and schedules, bid specifications, and subcontract packages for Bechtel projects. Has technical responsibility for interpreting complex requirements, evaluating and applying appropriate scientific/environmental engineering principles, and formulating scopes of work, plans, and methodologies suitable for achieving and maintaining compliance with environmental requirements. Provides technical assistance to other Environmental Services (ES) personnel assigned to projects and other project functions. May be assigned as a technical lead for a specific task. #LI-VB1

 

Major Responsibilities:

• Conducts environmental compliance inspections of project construction activities to monitor compliance with environmental requirements including contractual commitments, permits, and the project’s CECP.
• Reviews and maintains Bechtel owned RGLNG permitting requirements and ensures compliance with Next Decade (owner) permitting requirements
• Provides ownership and ongoing management of the Project Environmental Management System (EMS) including:
• Incident investigations
• The Project Risk, Aspect and Compliance registers.
• Annual management system review
• The project monitoring and reporting requirements
