Full-Stack Software Engineer, Growth and Revenue

About the RoleAs a Full-Stack Software Engineer, you’ll work directly with our revenue product teams to build and scale subscription services and features to enhance the membership experience on Houzz Pro.  We are looking for someone who is self-directed, independent, and has experience owning complete products and features.  Our tech stack includes React/Node.js, GraphQL, PHP, Java, Python, AWS, GitHub, Jenkins, Kubernetes, MySQL, Redis, Javascript, CSS and more.  This is a unique opportunity to work in a start-up environment with the backing of a larger organization.

What You’ll Do

• Work cross-functionally across engineering, product, and design teams
• Create web applications using React/Node.js and other technologies  
• Own and enhance multiple backend microservices in revenue system  
• Debug, manage and improve existing systems, with a focus on performance and reducing maintenance burden
• Build features for all parts of our web application, its libraries, widgets and custom features

At a Minimum, We’d Like You to Have

• Proficiency in web stack programming, from schema design to building user-facing interfaces
• Proficiency in web application programming (OOP,  PHP, Javascript)
• A good understanding of algorithms, distributed systems and microservice architecture
• B.S., M.S., or Ph.D. in Computer Science or equivalent
• 1+ years of experience

Ideally, You'll Also Have

• Independence, self-direction and experience owning complete products and features
• Comfort working on fast paced, data-driven projects
• Familiarity with NoSQL databases and Solr
• Familiarity with 3rd party system integration such as Salesforce integration
• Experience in developing payment system in fintech area
• 3+ years experience

Compensation, Benefits and PerksThis role has an annual starting salary range of $140,000 - $165,000. In addition to salary, you’re eligible for competitive benefits that support you and your family as part of your total rewards package at Houzz. Also, depending on the role, you could be eligible for an equity award. Actual compensation is influenced by a wide array of factors, including, but not limited to, skills, experience, and specific work location.
