Overview
This is a Hybrid position for indivduals residing in Travis County. Individuals in this position may work both at an approved off-site locationand onsite at a primary location or multiple locations based on business needs.
The Board Governance Specialist supports the Board Governance Senior Manager in performing essentialadministrative and governance tasks for a local government entity, specifically focusing on responsibilities relevantto a hospital district under Chapter 281 of the Health and Safety Code. Key duties include coordinating thescheduling and logistics of public meetings, preparing and distributing meeting documents, taking minutes,assisting with follow-up on action items, and maintaining the board request tracker. This role ensures effectiveexecution of governance processes and supports the board’s compliance with legal and organizationalrequirements.
Responsibilities
- Manage board and committee meeting schedules, logistics, and materials distribution.
- Basic day-to-day communication with board managers related to scheduling, and meeting reminders.
- Draft and track minutes and actions of board and committee meetings.
- Assist with maintaining and updating the board request/question tracker.
- Assist with the development and maintenance of board policies and procedures.
- Assist with public information requests.
- Provide administrative support for board meetings and board-related projects and initiatives.
- Facilitate communication and information flow within the governance function and other departments.
Qualifications
Education:
- Associates Degree - Required
- Bachelors Degree - Preferred
Work Experience:
- 2 years of relevant experience supporting the governance structure & operations of a company.
