The Internal Sales Director – Large/Mega Government (ISD) focus is to become an integral member of the Government Market sales team through consultant/advisor engagement and management of the deal flow process. In addition, the ISD will work on Large/Mega opportunities and special projects as needed.

What you will do

  • Effectively communicate details about Empower to advisors/consultants and prospects

  • Understand the sales process from prospecting through RFP through finals through conversion through live date

  • Skillfully negotiate with internal and external partners to achieve the best possible outcome

  • Build positive relationships over the phone with target advisors/consultants who specialize in the sale of retirement plans in the government market

  • Support assigned Regional Sales Directors with joint development and execution of a business plan, territory management, and scheduling appointments

  • Build a complete sales pipeline for the respective territories for the next 2 calendar years

  • Support the Renewal Sales Director, Regional Vice Presidents, & Relationship Managers to create and implement renewal strategies to retain key existing cases

  • Respond to advisor/consultant inquiries and escalate issues as appropriate to sales and/or ongoing service team

  • Active and contributing member of the service team in finals (as necessary), site visits, and other sales events

  • Manage RFP/RFI deal flow process including analyzing fund lineups for asset management placement and delivering pricing for new opportunities that create sustainable business

  • Perform updates to Salesforce in accordance with the established standards

  • Work closely with the RFP team to improve and customize RFP responses, update and maintain government market stock answers.

  • Partner with the Core Internal Sales Directors

What you will bring

  • Bachelor's degree in business or a related field

  • 3 - 5 years as an Internal Sales Director or equivalent experience

  • Understanding of the retirement plan services industry

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

  • Excellent oral and written communication skills

  • Proficiency with MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Salesforce, and Adobe Acrobat

  • FINRA Series 6 and 63 registration and insurance licensing required within established timelines

  • FINRA fingerprinting required
