DUTIES:                   

  • Perform complex projects and problem resolution-oriented tasks.
  • Provide advanced support across the range of his/her discipline, including End User Services as well as other internal user groups.
  • Serve as a resource and technical advisor to business users.
  • Serve as a mentor to less experienced engineers and assist in providing on the job training opportunities for other personnel.
  • Automate and improve processes using scripts and other administrative tools.
  • Initiate some new responsibilities and help to plan for the future of his/her system.
  • Responsible for resolving problems in all application environments.
  • Responsible for assisting Application group to resolve problems in test and developing environments.
  • Accept and accomplish tasks given by Endpoint Management Vice President.
  • Apply operating system and application updates, patches, and configuration changes.
  • Work with Security group to apply necessary controls to ensure safety of data and procedures for applications.
  • Monitor schedule and validity of backup of necessary production data.
  • Attend training relevant to SECU systems and applications.
  • Report regularly to Endpoint Management Vice President on tasks accomplished and scheduled by Endpoint Management group. 
  • Work with other groups to provide disaster recovery procedures for server and desktop-based applications and data.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Four year or higher degree preferred or Associate of Arts degree via the North Carolina College Transfer Program (NC-CTP) or minimum of four years’ experience in various Information Technology related functions including but not limited to system administration.
  • Must be comfortable with most aspects of operating system administration.
  • Must be familiar with fundamental concepts of distributed computing environments.
  • Needs self-direction and independent problem-solving skills.    
  • Require ability to work well with others.
  • Require excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Must be familiar with system administration tools and procedures.  
  • Need fundamental understanding of an operating system.
  • Must adhere to the work schedule and attendance policy established by manager.
  • Must be able to speak English fluently.
  • Must be able to cooperate and collaborate with co-workers.
  • Must be cordial in all interactions with members and co-workers.
