Magellan is a global business transformation program accompanying a move of our ERP system from SAP ECC to S4 HANA. Magellan’s goal is to simplify, standardize and modernize our core business processes, enabling Boston Scientific to better leverage the power of data and position the business for profitable and sustainable growth.

 

As the Principal Business Analyst, Manufacturing (Magellan Tranformation - Plan-to-Make), you will play a key role in ensuring successful business transformation across the Boston Scientific network, including manufacturing, divisional and distribution sites. This role reports to the Product Owner, Magellan Plan to Make, and will initially scope long lead-time constraints and develop solutions as part of a cross-functional, enterprise-wide team, progressing into a product team for design and build cycles.

 

This role represents business users and collaborates with Magellan workstreams, strategic integration vendors, Boston Scientific business process leads (BPLs), subject matter experts (SMEs), communities of practice (COPs), and stakeholders across the network. The program includes phases such as solution confirmation, pre-project portfolio surge activity, requirements, design, build and testing, and deployment through post-go-live sustainment.

 

Work model, sponsorship, relocation:

At Boston Scientific, we value collaboration and synergy. This role follows a hybrid work model requiring employees to be in our local office at least three days per week. Boston Scientific will not offer sponsorship or take over sponsorship of an employment visa for this position at this time. Relocation assistance is not available for this position at this time.

 

Your responsibilities will include:

● Represent business users by translating user requirements into business user stories and clearly defined acceptance criteria, including the “who, what, why.”

● Coordinate and collaborate with Magellan workstreams, strategic integration vendors, BPLs, SMEs, communities of practice, IT solution architects and stakeholders to build deep expertise in Plan to Make processes and applications.

● Partner with training teams and site super users, BPLs and SMEs to develop training plans that enhance knowledge across manufacturing, divisional and distribution networks.

● Collaborate with the Magellan Plan to Make workstream and integrate with overall program management, IT solution architects and other workstreams.

● Build and support a cross-functional, network-wide team within a collaborative matrix organization to deliver transformation outcomes.

● Align requirements, monitor project plans, communicate with stakeholders, and coordinate requirements, design, build, testing and deployment phases.

● Influence global manufacturing sites, distribution networks and divisional leaders to adopt best practices and align with transformation strategies and goals.

● Promote simplification and standardization across Plan to Make business processes and applications.

● Create an environment that encourages constructive feedback, coaching and proactive employee development.

Qualifications:

 

Required qualifications:

● Bachelor’s degree in business, supply chain or a related field.

● Minimum of 5 years' experience in technical professional or operational supply chain roles within the medical device industry.

● Minimum of 5 years' experience working with systems and applications in supply chain planning or operations as a BPL or SME in one or more of the following: SAP, MES, Windchill or Rapid Response.

● Experience supporting a major program implementation or upgrade, ideally in an IT, systems or business-facing role.
