Womble Bond Dickinson (US) LLP is seeking a Business Development Coordinator to be located in our Phoenix, AZ, or Las Vegas, NV offices. The Business Development Coordinator will report to a Business Development Strategist and will support the marketing and business development efforts for Corporate & Securities practice groups at the firm (including M&A, Private Equity, government contracts, international trade, among other transactional practices). The ideal candidate will be self-motivated, positive, eager to learn and extremely detail-oriented. This position requires excellent organization and interpersonal communication skills and an ability to manage multiple projects and priorities.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Develop a solid understanding of assigned practice groups by staying abreast of practice group, client and industry trends and support Business Development Strategists in carrying out practice group business development plans.
- Track and maintain practice and client-specific key performance indicators (KPIs) and progress against business plans for presentation to practice group leaders and client team leaders.
- Assemble, coordinate, and update a variety of marketing and business development collateral to be used in pitches, proposals and other client facing materials.
- Support new processes to collect and track attorney experience lists for use in marketing materials, proposal software and reporting to league tables.
- Coordinate with events team to provide business development support for a variety of events, including webinars, seminars, client trainings, networking receptions, industry conferences and more. Support may include drafting and formatting evites, building and managing invitation lists, coordinating presentations materials, coordinating follow-up activities and tracking success.
- Support practice group sponsorships and memberships to ensure we are utilizing all benefits and encouraging relevant attorney participation (with oversight from business development managers).
- Assist Business Development Strategists on various marketing and branding initiatives (including digital campaigns, ads, thought leadership pieces)
- Design, edit and proofread PowerPoint presentations for attorney speaking engagements, client training presentations and internal business development meetings.
- Assist in scheduling and preparing for a variety of practice group, sector and client team meetings, including preparing agendas, following up on action items, disseminating information and resources.
- Coordinate with the business intelligence team to provide targeted research and data for a variety of purposes to support relevant practice groups, including background on clients and contacts, sectors, competitors, and client teams.
- Support strategic client team efforts including coordinating regular client team newsletters, tracking client news, developing client relationship maps, and supporting team meetings by taking notes and circulating minutes and action items.
- Utilize the firm’s CRM platform as a resource to maintain client contact information, pitches, and proposal entries, mailing lists, tracking campaign activity and other reporting.
- Handle day-to-day business development administrative needs such as vendor and sponsorship check requests and creating and maintaining various spreadsheets and lists to keep the team organized and on track.
REQUIREMENTS:
- Minimum 1-3 years’ experience, preferably within a professional services organization.
- Demonstrated ability to meet deadlines and manage simultaneous priorities, working independently and as part of a team.
- Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
- Strong work ethic and attention to detail when it comes to professional writing skill set.
- Proficiency with Microsoft office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and Adobe Acrobat.
- Flexibility, responsiveness, adaptability, and professional maturity.
- Bachelor’s degree (BA or BS), preferably in a marketing or business-related field.
