Toledo Tool & Die is adding a Die Engineering Manager to our team to support our continued growth. This is a full-time position based in Toledo, Ohio with travel both domestically and internationally.

WHAT MAKES YOU A GREAT FIT FOR THIS POSITION:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or equivalent experience, Master’s Degree preferred.
- Minimum eight (8) years’ experience in an automotive/metals/assembly environment, and two (2) years of management experience.
- Background in engineering and building dies.
- Proficient in troubleshooting and correcting work flow problems.
- Knowledge of standard quality practices.
- Knowledge of design techniques, tools, and principles involved in production of automotive stamping dies.
- Computer literacy and good knowledge of Microsoft Office software.
- Proven leadership ability and excellent interpersonal skills.
- CAD experience (UG, Catia, KeyCreator, etc).
- Ability to visualize and comprehend all aspects of a manufacturing equipment and tooling, understand the relationships of factors affecting a given situation, be attentive to detail, and continually seek to improve work processes.
- Knowledge of automated processes including mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic and control systems and how they interact with each other.
- Ability to read and write in English and perform mathematical calculations.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Provide key input into the development of departmental strategic goals along with identifying key measurable to support the departmental goals.
- Analyzes engineering sketches, specifications, and related data and drawings to determine process selection and feasibility.
- Assists in the tool sourcing process, including solicitation of quotes, selection of vendors, and development of new tooling suppliers.
- Support and report the progress of tooling development on assigned programs, from sourcing to production readiness.
- Reviews and approves die designs.
- Assists in developing and updating tooling timelines.
- Coordinates and manages updates and suggestions for Die Construction Standards and all relevant checklists, approval forms, etc.
- Works directly with customers in matters specific to product feasibility and die design approvals.
- Coordinates information between tooling suppliers and Program Launch Team.
- Manages and coordinates die buyoff process at tool shop locations.
- Assist with home line runoff activities, working closely with operations, tool room personnel, and tooling suppliers.
- Coordinates staff and resources to ensure timely completion of die tooling deliverables according to program timeline.
- Supports improvements to equipment, processes, and tools to reduce cost, decrease cycle time and improve throughput.
- Determines root cause of process issues and implements corrective actions as needed.
- Assures that all products quoted and/or released to the plant are feasible and that the quoted rate, crew sizes, and plant performance metrics are achievable.
- Communicate material concerns to the Materials department (ex. circle grid, material certification, etc.)
- Champion engineering changes and communicate/coordinate with all departments.
- Assist with the quoting process.
