Warehouse Sorter - 3rd Shift Lead

The Warehouse Sorter/Shift Lead is responsible for leading the sorting activities required in the Warehouse as directed by Routing Departments. Also is responsible for pickups and deliveries, as needed.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Duties include, but are not limited to:
- Lead the shift to ensure that all sorters are working effectively and efficiently.
- Sort and prepare packages for delivery to their correct destinations.
- Assist in loading and unloading packages from delivery vehicles.
- Oversee the loading and unloading of nightly line hauls.
- Perform quality audits of distribution routes and branch pallets each night.
- Complete preliminary OSDs for all significant accounts and report any missing packages to the corresponding branches.
- Ensure that all distribution routes have the necessary preparation before the next morning's launch.
- Work independently or as part of a team to meet specific deadlines.
- Maintain a clean and safe work environment at all times.
- Ensure the timely and efficient flow of all packages and documents within the warehouse.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Supervisory Responsibilities: This job has limited employee oversight responsibilities.

Education and/or Experience: High School Diploma or G.E.D; and two years of related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Previous experience working in the logistics and distribution industry is desired.
