Job Description:

Job PostingParsons is looking for an amazingly talented Civil Senior Supervising Engineer to join our team! In this role you will get to provide civil engineering design for challenging US Government projects. 

The ideal candidate must be able to work out the Pasadena California office 4 to 5 times per week.

What You'll Be Doing:

• Supervise a group of five or more Engineers and design personnel, usually in one discipline, by directing technical engineering assignments and coordinating project staffing.
• Help to define scope of work, design criteria, schedule, standards, and procedures for project assignments.
• Determine budget estimates and staffing requirements for the defined scope and schedule. Willingness to travel to site locations is expected.    

What Required Skills You'll Bring:

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering
• 20+ years of related work experience
• *Office design experience required
• Professional Engineer registration in State of California is required
• Must be eligible for a government security clearance which requires proof of US citizenship
• Experience working with government/military agencies' infrastructure improvement projects is highly desired.
• Strong civil engineering design background is required. Typical design experience includes site development, grading and drainage design, storm water design and storm water permitting, pavement design and utility design.

What Desired Skills You'll Bring:

• Reviews work produced to ensure that applicable codes, standards, and procedures are followed and quality is acceptable. 
• Monitors productivity and technical proficiency of assigned personnel.  Makes staffing assignments and reassignments as project needs arise.
• Provides technical direction, making decisions and/or obtaining additional technical staff assistance as the situation warrants.  This may include obtaining the services of consultants.
• Promotes technical excellence on the project, including furthering the Quality Improvement Process.
• Ensures that adequate checking is performed in accordance with discipline checking policy and procedures. Ensures that discipline design work is coordinated with project staff and Engineers from other disciplines by maintaining clear and frequent communications.
• Advises engineering and project management regarding any problem areas, staffing requirements, delays in production, scope changes, or other events which could effect project completion and/or profitability.
• Initiates and/or reviews change order requests for additions, deletions, or changes to the original scope of work.
• Recommends design methods, equipment use, etc., for discipline standards.
• Supervises the production of project drawings and design calculations.
• Recommends and prepares technical papers.
• Performs other responsibilities associated with this position as may be appropriate

Salary Range: 

$117,000.00 - $210,600.00
