We are seeking a Data Scientist to join our pharma-facing RWD Analytics (RWDA) team. Our team partners with scientists at biotechs and pharma companies who are using our real-world clinical data to understand treatment patterns and study outcomes. As Data Scientist IIt, you will lead quality assurance initiatives on dataset deliverables. 

Responsibilities

  • Develop a deep understanding of the Tempus data model
  • Develop a framework for evaluating data quality for datasets planned for biopharma delivery
  • Oversee quality for planned delivery of licensed data
  • Proactively identify and address issues that may affect the quality of delivered data
  • Assist in troubleshooting and coordinating any corrective actions required for data quality issues identified in licensed dataset deliverables
  • Work closely with cross-functional teams including peers in RWE, Data Engineering, Delivery Operations and Alliance Management in coordinating quality related deliverables for licensed datasets
  • Participate in larger data health initiatives and provide VOC
  • Maintain training documentation for customers on delivered datasets
  • Provide customer training on navigating delivered datasets as needed

Required Experience

  • BS/BA in bioinformatics, computer science, molecular biology or genetics, or equivalent field of study
  • Programming skills: Strong proficiency in SQL, and Python or R 
  • At least 3 years of experience in the healthcare industry, ideally in a quality role
  • An understanding of how clinical data is represented in EHR
  • Collaborative mindset, an eagerness to learn and a high integrity work ethic
  • Familiarity with Mac/Linux environment

Nice to have

  • Experience working with clinical cancer data
  • Experience with version control and software testing
  • Customer facing experience
  • Reporting and data visualization experience (Looker, Tableau, Snowflake)
  • Experience working with dbt
