Job Description

Position Summary:

Cirrus is investing in the future of our affordable housing team with a newly created Compliance Department focused on growth, innovation, and excellence. We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Regional Director of Compliance to lead our compliance department. This role is pivotal in ensuring the compliance integrity of our affordable housing portfolio. The successful candidate will develop and implement strategies, with a focus on technology, to maintain compliance with all relevant regulations and standards, directly impacting the long-term success of our properties.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Compliance Management and Oversight: Ensure compliance across a regional portfolio of affordable properties by implementing and monitoring adherence to regulations from agencies such as LIHTC, HUD, HOME, HTF, and others.
  • Regulatory Affairs and Agency Relations: Act as the primary compliance contact for all external regulatory bodies and agencies, maintaining up-to-date knowledge of regulatory changes and industry best practices.
  • Leadership: Provide strategic leadership and support to a team of compliance professionals, fostering an environment of excellence and effective communication.
  • Compliance Business and Budget Management: Develop and manage the compliance department’s budget, ensuring efficient use of resources and contributing to the organization’s bottom line.
  • Strategy: Develop and execute strategic plans to expand and enhance our affordable housing portfolio, leveraging technology to drive efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Collaboration: Engage closely with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless coordination and execution of affordable housing projects.
  • Operations: Serve as a primary contact for compliance support, maintaining governing documents, policies, procedures, and protocols.
  • Technology and Systems Integration: Oversee the integration of compliance requirements into property management software systems.

Qualifications

Education/Experience:

  • 5-7 years of experience in affordable housing compliance, property management, or a related field
  • 5-7 years’ experience managing people, preferably a remote or hybrid team. 
  • 3-5 years’ experience with Yardi’s affordable housing platform, or similar, and Microsoft Office 365 products Associate degree preferred, or equivalent experience
  • Bachelor’s degree preferred, or equivalent experience.

Certificates and Licenses:

  • Industry certification such as COS, HCCP, CPM, CAM or similar preferred

20% travel, must visit corporate office located in Woodland Hills, CA once per month.

Additional Information

Annual Salary: $135,000 

Position start date flexible up to 1/1/2025
