ICF seeks On-Call Archaeologists for our Pacific Northwest region (based in Seattle, Portland, or Central Oregon).  The On-Call/Temporary Archaeologist will initially be working on a large pedestrian block survey in north-central Oregon expected to run for 2+ months, working 8 days on - 6 days off field schedule. This project is expected to start in mid-to-late May. Single occupancy hotels will be provided for 8 day rotations as well as transportation to and from Seattle/Portland/Central Oregon, if needed. $68 per diem is also provided for working days. Additional work after this survey is available and would primarily include fieldwork, with tasks including construction monitoring, survey, testing, evaluation, and data recovery. However, other duties could include laboratory analysis, conducting background research, report writing, and other tasks as assigned. This position requires excellent field skills, the ability to identify precontract and historic-period artifacts, and taking detailed field notes. About On-Call Employment with ICF

Given the seasonal or project-specific nature of our environmental work, ICF often hires environmental professionals as “On-Call” employees. On-Call employees are scheduled for work hours as they become available (while we usually schedule work hours a few weeks ahead of time, last minute scheduling may also occur), and each on-call employee is free to accept or refuse the hours assigned to them in a given week. On-Call employees may work concurrent projects outside of their ICF assignment (as long as their outside work does not create a conflict of interest with the work they do for ICF).

These positions are part-time and paid hourly as non-exempt.

Crew Member $25 to $30

What You Must Have - Crew Member

• Bachelor's degree in Archaeology, Anthropology, or related field

• 2+ years of experience in archaeological fieldwork, including monitoring and survey

• Must have valid driver’s license and successfully pass a Motor Vehicle Records (MVR) check.

Additional Knowledge & Experience

• Ability to hike up to 10 miles a day in rugged terrain.

• Ability to communicate and coordinate effectively with ICF staff and construction personnel

• Strong knowledge and familiarity with computers, smart devices, and completing data entry in application interfaces (such as ArcGIS Collector).

• Experience in precontact or historic-period archaeology of the Pacific Northwest

• Ability to conduct field visits at locations in Seattle and throughout the Pacific Northwest

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills

• Attention to detail and accuracy a must.
