Setting: Hybrid (2 days remote, 3 days Onsite)
Location: Sojourn - 1453 16th Street, 1st Floor, Santa Monica, CA 90404
Schedule: Monday - Friday (Mornings/Afternoons/Evenings) On-Call - schedule may vary to include occasional both weekend days or varying shifts due to programmatic need
Status: Full-Time/ Exempt/ Management

Summary:
Sojourn’s mission is to provide trauma-informed and culturally responsive services to individuals and families who have experienced domestic violence; and empower communities with the knowledge and support to build healthy relationships.
Working under the supervision of the Senior Director, the Director of DV Community Services will provide support to Sojourn Support Services site. The Director will coordinate and provide supportive services for Survivors of Domestic Violence and their children. The Director will adhere to safety guidelines set by DV best practices and standards; following a Trauma- Informed, Empowerment Model. The Director will represent Sojourn support services in community facing activities as described in the description below. Driving is required for this position.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Under the supervision of the Senior Director, the Director of DV Community Services will:
• Serve as the primary site leader, responsible for the site and its daily operations
• Ensure the implementation of all agency initiatives and that the project’s work aligns with wider agency and department strategic goals
• Report on the activities of the project to the Executive Leadership Team and represent the project in all inter-agency initiatives
• Act as the fiscal guardian for the program, managing the budget, contracts, and purchasing, and signing off on all project spending, working collaboratively with the finance department
• Be accountable to all contractual deliverables, ensuring they are met, if not exceeded, and continually communicating with funders and the grants and contracts department to ensure they are negotiated, maintained, and appropriately and accurately reported
• Ensure compliance with domestic violence confidentiality requirements, mandated reporting boundaries, funder requirements, safety protocols, documentation standards, and agency policies
• Assist with funding source development and grant-writing, including providing program narratives as requested
• Coordinate with Sojourn shelter, housing, interim housing, outreach, behavioral health, and other The People Concern programs to ensure survivors receive coordinated service
• Coordinate and maintain Drop-In Center staffing schedules and hours of operation to ensure consistent, accessible, trauma-informed services for survivors and their families
• Provide guidance, leadership, and support to all team members including management, case managers, and support specialists
• Liaise with outside stakeholders such as community partners, funders, housing authorities, etc. and represent the site and agency
• Develop and maintain relationships with community partners and serve as liaison among sponsoring/participating agencies
• Serve as Chair for the Westside Anti-Violence Authority to conduct community organizing and coalition building in working to end child abuse, sexual violence and intimate partner violence in our community
• Develop and maintain relationships with local middle and high schools and colleges in order to bring violence prevention curriculum to students
• Operate comprehensive dual programs to outreach and educate the community and prevent violence in the home and community
• Provide trainings, including twice-yearly 40-hour Domestic Violence training; New Employee Orientation - DV; Bystander Intervention; Healthy Relationships; Safety Planning; and workshops on gender-based violence, gender stereotyping, healthy masculinity, dating violence, and related topics
• Ensure integration of training for all The People Concern programs as it relates to Intimate Partner Violence
• Coordinate event tabling at health fairs, college campus events, and community events
• Provide development and oversight of Sojourn support group curriculum and support group service provision
• Provide direct assistance to survivors as necessary, including driving clients when needed
