Job Description
Key Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Assist the EH&S Manager to drive a culture of transparency, agile, global, innovative, entrepreneurial, and EH&S ownership through excellent environmental stewardship and a safe, healthy, and injury-free work environment as everyone’s responsibility in the company including vendors and contractors.
- Conduct EHS technical/regulatory review to maintain a working knowledge of all EH&S applicable federal, state, and local regulations and company requirements
- Assist with the identification of EHS objectives, key/significant aspects, and implement solutions
- Conduct EH&S compliance audits/inspections in collaboration with Business Units to evaluate conformance to internal and regulatory requirements, and resolution of corrective actions are monitored, documented, and resolved.
- Conduct industrial hygiene-related surveys (i.e., noise, ventilation).
- Develop, review, administer, and track EH&S related training for all affected employees and visiting contractors, as needed.
- Maintain an active presence in the labs and provide feedback and coaching regarding EH&S requirements and procedures.
- Collaboration with Facilities team on environmental requirements they support.
- Manage in collaboration with Business Units the onsite chemical inventory and prepare State reports.
- Function as the Emergency Response Team Assistant Coordinator and respond to and resolve emergencies
- Provide EHS support to multiple remote US sites
- Knowledge of Federal, State, and Local regulations related to EHS (OSHA, EPA, etc.)
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Environmental, Health & Safety (EH&S) or a related discipline with at least 7 years of experience.
- Up to date with latest EH&S regulations.
- Good analytical skills.
- Effective communication skills (written and verbal), presentation and report writing, customer interface/relationship building.
- Computer Skills – MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
- Knowledge and implementation of EHS Management Systems/Programs (ISO-14001, ISO-45001)
- Experience reviewing, preparing, and submitting reports and permits (wastewater, storm water, BAAQMD, DOT, and EPA)
- Experience with HIRADC or other methods in defining risk and implementation of risk mitigation
- Development of safety policies/procedures, and develop/administer training to ensure understanding of requirements and responsibilities
- Time Management and organizational skills: flexibility and adaptability to changing priorities and assignments; ability to maintain confidentiality; ability to manage time effectively to ensure deadlines are met.
- Own assignments and be fully accountable for their success.
Additional Information
The expected annual pay range for this position is $90,000 - $120,000. This position is also eligible for bonus opportunities. Please note that the final offer amount will be dependent on geographic location, applicable experience, and skillset of the candidate.
