About the role
Job Purpose and FunctionThe IT Security Analyst has duties and responsibilities which directly affect the Wills Group’s well-being. This role is responsible for creating contingency plans, reviewing daily suspicious activities, security breach remediation, and educating the company on new cyber security measures. The IT Security Analyst is responsible for implementing threat protection measures and security controls. They will identify policies and procedures based on the organization’s requirements and perform policy reviews and adjustments as required. This includes, but not limited to, acceptable use, international travel, artificial intelligence, and software application download policies. This role will have opportunities to proactively lead efforts around the organization's PCI, Financial Audits, Network Infrastructure, and Cyber Security Insurance reviews. Additionally, the IT Security Analyst will perform annual external penetration testing, annual disaster recovery testing, and security tabletop exercises. The IT Security Analyst will also develop and maintain compliance policies in accordance with a level 1 merchant. How You’ll Make an Impact (Key Accountabilities)
- Testing, Installations, Management, and update software on all the systems and networks in the organization and ensure adequate security measures are in place on all systems.
- Monitoring and detecting anomalies or activities taking place within the environment, identifying negative activity in incoming and outgoing traffic and responding to events accordingly. The IT Security Analyst will work with Infrastructure, Filed Services, NOC, SOC, MDR, and Managed Service provider to have proactive monitoring with the reactive process of MDR and be the primary point of contact for vendors, zero-day threats, patching.
- Develop security plans, provide suggestions and best data around security practices for employees, end users, systems.
- Compile ongoing security reports, document security issues, document processes taken to resolve security issues, and identify and collect root cause analyst reports. Will be required to provide monthly KPI, emerging threats, and security metrics that will be presented to Wills Group leadership teams. Creating incident reports as necessary.
- Research upcoming trends in information technology and security, stay updated on potential threats and attacks, and come up with preventive strategies.
- Development project schedules and execution plan to resolve any IT Security projects, vulnerabilities, and remediation efforts within a timely manner to secure and protect the organization. The IT Security Analyst will own the project outcome, see forward full implementation, and transition documentation to support.
- Develop and provide employee based Cyber Security Training and enhance Cyber Security Awareness around the organization.
- Bachelor’s degree in information security, or equivalent work experience
- Proficient, or able to gain proficiency with, a broad array of security software applications and tools. Such as; Palo Alto Firewalls, Zscaler ZIA and ZPA, Microsoft Defender for Endpoint, KnowBe4, Microsoft Intune, Microsoft Advance Threat Protection, Meraki Networking, Cybera Firewalls, NCR, Gilbarco, Verifone Data Security
- IT Security Analyst need to have a 2 to 3 years of expertise in working with diverse networks infrastructures and understanding how each of these elements can impact the security of an organization[LM1] .
- IT Security Analyst need to have 2-year experience with working and identifying vulnerabilities impacts and remediation across all types of operating systems such as Windows, Linux, IOS and Android using Defender for Endpoint, Tenable, or Qualys.
- Demonstrated problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Thorough understanding of computer-related security systems including firewalls, encryption, password protection and authentication.
- At least 5 years of experience in computer systems with some specialization in computer security highly preferred.
- Authorization to work in the U.S. (visa sponsorship or C2C opportunities not available at this time).
- Willing to submit to a pre-employment background check in accordance with local, state, and federal laws.
