Description

If so, the Council for the Homeless (CFTH) is seeking a dynamic, dedicated, and compassionate Program Coordinator to join our team and play a crucial role in transforming lives.


CFTH operates the Housing Solutions Center (HSC), our community’s one-stop access point for over 40 housing assistance programs, including emergency shelter, homelessness prevention, and programs designed for specific populations such as families or unaccompanied youth. The Program Coordinator assists all HSC programs, is responsible for welcoming all visitors to the HSC lobby and callers to the HSC during open hours. This position collaborates with program staff to identify and create policies and procedures to fill gaps in the coordinated assessment process. Using a strengths-based, trauma-informed lens the position will conduct housing assessments over the phone or in person, answer the Housing Hotline, support lobby guidelines, assist in scheduling appointments for participants and staff, and address in-person and telephone questions in an accurate and efficient manner.


Your skills and experience will support our mission as you:

  • Support the agency’s mission, values, equity statement, strategic goals and policies through words and actions.
  • Create a trauma-informed environment for participants, colleagues, and partners while consistently maintaining healthy, and appropriate boundaries with participants.
  • Provide de-escalation intervention for participants in person and over the phone, participate in the CFTH safety committee.
  • Conduct housing assessments over the phone to clients unable to be served due to capacity and creates accurate assessment files and ensure participants fill out documents necessary to meet program requirements.
  • Provide support and assistance to the housing hotline as needed, through consistent communication with hotline supervisor. Respond to household and partner inquiries in a timely fashion while establishing and maintaining positive, productive relationships with colleagues, team, and partnering agencies.
  • Effectively support lobby guidelines and follow CFTH procedures and messaging while coordinating with program supervisors to complete orders and restock office supplies, communicate with vendors, and ensures cleanliness of office space, as needed.
  • Provide regular training and technical assistance to interns and/or volunteers.

Pay and Benefits

  • The starting salary for this position is $26.24 per hour. In compliance with the Equal Pay & Opportunities Act, the full salary range for this position is $26.24 - $31.49 per hour.
  • Full-time, non-exempt position working 40 hours per week, Monday - Friday. May be required to work a few hours on weekends and holidays when needed.

Requirements

  • At least two years’ experience working in a social service setting with people who are low income and/or homeless or equivalent.
  • Experience developing and strengthening partnerships.
  • Strong customer service, time management and interpersonal skills
  • Strong cultural awareness and humility.
  • Proficient with Google Drive and Microsoft Office Suite, with strong computer skills.
  • Ability to accept feedback as an opportunity to improve and excel.
  • Experience with de-escalation and crisis intervention on the phone or in-person.
  • Ability to remain empathetic, kind, and nonjudgmental regardless of the situation.
  • Ability to work independently and well with others as a member of various teams.
  • Willing to work in an environment with constantly changing priorities and roles without losing enthusiasm for the organization mission.

Preferred Experience

  • Self-identified lived experience with homelessness.
  • Trainings/Certifications applicable to the position.
  • Associate or bachelor’s degree in social work, human services or related field.
  • Bi or Multi-lingual and/or Cultural.
  • Identify as a member of a population(s) disproportionately affected by homelessness.
  • Knowledge of Clark County resources and agencies is available to those experiencing homelessness.<
