Job Details:

Purpose

Engineering leadership role to design, coordinate and evaluate sonar related signal/image processing, and system design in the Advanced Technology Laboratory (ATL).

Responsibilities

  • Engineering leadership role to coordinate, design, implement and evaluate sonar related signal processing, target tracking and classification projects. Includes supervision/evaluation of scientists/engineers and students.

  • Prepares proposals and plans, schedules and oversees research projects.

  • Reports and presents results to team, project directors and sponsors.

  • Oversee analysis and validation of sonar data.

  • Travel in support of projects, data collection and system evaluation efforts.

  • Other related functions as assigned.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelors in engineering, math, physics or other related discipline.

  • Experience in one or more areas: signal/image processing, or underwater acoustics.

  • Experience in programming such as Python or Matlab.

  • Experience with computer systems.

Applicant must have a dynamic skill set, willing to work with new technologies, be highly organized and capable of planning and coordinating multiple tasks and managing their time. The position will require attention to detail, effective problem solving skills and excellent judgment. Ability to work independently with sensitive and confidential information, maintain a professional demeanor, work as a team member without daily supervision and effectively communicate with all groups of clients. Able to work under pressure and accept supervision. Regular and punctual attendance.'

US Citizen. Applicant selected will be subject to a government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information at the level appropriate to the project requirements of the position.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in supervising research/engineering projects. 

  • Experience with sonar/radar systems.

  • Experience of statistical data analysis.

  • Experience with collection of real-world data.

  • Knowledge of Linux

  • Eligibility for immediate access to classified information.

  • Cumulative GPA of 3.0.

Salary Range

$104,000-$174,000+/negotiable depending on qualifications
