Position Summary
Odyssey Systems is currently looking to hire a Sr. Staff Accountant at our Corporate Headquarters in Wakefield, MA. In this role the ideal candidate will support our Accounting and Finance team, preparing monthly journal entries, account reconciliations and analysis. Support project revenue accounting, internal and external audits. Maintain and develop procedure documentation for. Ensure all transactions are properly recorded in accordance with GAAP and CAS, FAR, DFAS and DCMA guidelines. Prepare annual Incurred Cost Submissions. Collaborate with cross functional teams, accounting, contracts, operations and program control.
Responsibilities
Duties include, but not limited to:
- Daily bank reporting and cash reconciliation.
- Monthly preparation of journal entries, general ledger account reconciliations, expense account analysis vs budget and bank reconciliations.
- Monthly project revenue recognition review.
- Collaborate with project teams when needed to ensure accurate cost reporting and revenue recognition.
- Assist in developing and implementing accounting internal control procedures and documentation.
- Support external and internal audits.
- Prepare and compile annual incurred cost submissions in accordance with regulatory requirements.
- Maintain organized records of cost submissions, adjustments and audit findings.
Qualifications
Citizenship: Must be a US citizen
Minimum Required Qualifications
Education:
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, or Business.
Years of Experience:
- 5 to 10 years of experience in related accounting or finance role.
Qualifications
- Knowledge of FAR, CAS and DCAA audit requirements.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Excel and accounting software.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent attention to details and organizational skills.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
