Description

Coastal Hospice invites you to support a team of caregivers who ensures that every patient and family is honored, supported and comforted as they receive the right care at the right time throughout their journey.  In your role as a full-time Payroll & Accounts Payable Coordinator, you will:

• Maintain knowledge of company General Ledger and Accounts Payable policies and procedures.
• Maintain knowledge of company’s EMR and accounting systems to properly perform accounting functions.
• Review all invoices and follows established procedures for proper authorization prior to payment.
• Post patient A/P invoices to company’s electronic medical record system (EMR) and the financial accounting system.
• Print and obtain proper signatures on all A/P checks.
• Distribute A/P checks, ensuring that all invoices are paid timely.
• Create ACH batches for approval and transmits payment details to vendors.
• Maintain daily electronic deposits of all incoming checks.
• Maintain proper filing of all A/P related documents
• Assist other departments with procurement process.
• Assist with order placement when appropriate.
• Perform month-end closing of accounts payable and general ledger accounts as requested by Senior Accountant and/or VP of Finance.
• Assist with the preparation, distribution, and filing of1099's and 1096 return as required by law.
• Serve as backup in other Financial Department functions as cross-training permits.
• Assist VP of Finance with special projects as assigned.
• Demonstrate excellent customer service for both internal and external customers.

Qualifications

Education and Work Experience Requirements:

• Associate’s degree in Accounting or relevant work experience.
• Working knowledge of accounting theory and accepted practice.
• Working knowledge of electronic spreadsheets, word processing applications, and accounting software.
• Excellent communications skills and ability to maintain effective and cordial relationships with hospice associates, including patients/families, vendors, physician’s offices and insurance companies.
