Mission Focus: As a Database Architect, Mid on our Defense Threat Reduction Agency (DTRA) Knowledge Management (KM) Support Team you will be part of a team of developers, data analysts, and system administrators who provide the operation, maintenance, enhancement, and development support for knowledge, data, and analytics management within DTRA.  

This effort is a vital initiative within DTRA designed to develop, deploy, and maintain mission-critical IT solutions that enhance collaboration, data management, process streamlining, and decision-making for DTRA. This contract provides the necessary expertise and experience needed to support the Agency’s growing need for specialized systems, software, security, cloud, and KM solutions. Specific support is needed for the enterprise SharePoint and Business Intelligence Dashboard knowledge sharing systems.  

Clearance: Secret 

Location/Flexibility: Ft. Belvoir, some remote flexibility may be permitted   

Responsibilities:  

  • Responsible for implementing and maintaining one or more complex databases.  
  • Implement procedures to control data access, integrity and maintain security controls.  
  • Lead the evaluation, proof of concepts, negotiations and selection of products and tools to support data strategy. 
  • Develop best practices and frameworks for unit, functional and integration tests around data pipelines. 
  • Exhibit advanced subject matter expertise.  
  • Plan production deployments coordinating with all the teams involved in the process. 
  • Work with different project teams to ensure the data collection meets the data standards. 
  • Translate complex business and technical challenges into logical data models.
  • Investigate new technologies to improve and optimize BI.
  • Contribute to and may lead the planning and implementation of large programs in the function, and regularly interfaces with senior management and executive leadership. 

Qualifications:  

  • Education & Experience 
    • Mid: 3+ years of relevant experience and a BS Degree.  
  • Additional experience may be substituted for education, and additional education may be substituted for years of experience    
  • Certified Knowledge Manager (CKM) or obtain within 60 days 
  • Strong understanding of data analysis, business principles, and operations. 
  • Ability to clearly present technical information to fellow technical professionals as well as non-technical peers. 
  • Proficiency in cloud, SQL, ETL, NoSQL, Python, and SQL server. 
  • Proficiency in relational databases such as SQL Server, Oracle, etc. 
  • Experience in software architecture and design. 
  • Experience with network design and implementation is a plus. 
  • Certified Data Architect is preferred. 

Physical Requirements:  

  • Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer  
  • Must be able to lift up to 10-15 pounds at time
