Job Description
Purpose of the Job and Expected outcome
The IT Program Director will manage all aspects of major business programs to ensure proper design, build, implementation and operation across BioPharma Services Lab Testing. On one hand, the Program Director will “wear the hat of the business person” as he/she is responsible to see how the projects (within the Program) result in business benefits and to facilitate business adoption. On the other hand, the IT Program Director will handle the IT and coordination role to lead the design, development, migration and rollout of critical applications and systems related to the Program.
Key Accountabilities
- Take accountability for the Program Governance (organization, processes, tools) and lead and organize the Program Steering committee.
- Derive the business requirements from his/her customer’s business leaders and agree the implementation roadmap with the strategic steering committee.
- Manage a well-balanced rollout plan where resources and demand from business are in equilibrium.
- Coordinate all teams contributing to the project in order to ensure efficient collaboration and optimum alignment with business priorities:
- Business Process Owners
- Business Analysis from different areas of Operations
- Central Support
- Local change agents
- Set up business needs scope coverage, Program adoption rate and operating performance KPI to monitor success of rollout.
- Conduct a continuous training and coaching effort to local change agents.
- Provide leadership and vision, play the role of facilitator and coach who can inspire and guide project managers and their teams to achieve the strategic goals of the Program.
- Provide leadership and vision, be an inspirational manager for IT teams to execute the strategic goals of the Program on time and budget.
- Ensure that the IT infrastructure and software platforms are stable, reliable, performing and sufficiently scalable for future volumes by working intensively with the key IT Groups and leaders:
- Data and Information Management Team
- Software Development, Software testing teams
- IT Infrastructure and Operations teams
- External Vendors
- Contribute to the recruitment, promotion or development of talented IT leaders in the scope of the Program.
- Control goals achievement of direct reports through set up of appropriate Key Performance Indicators (KPIs), regular management and individual meetings. Implement the necessary actions when results are not in line with objectives given.
Qualifications
Position Specifications and Job Requirements
Experience
- Overall 15+ years in experience in IT Application/Software Development field.
- At least 3+ years of Program Manager Experience in an IT Product or Services company.
- Should have managed at least 1 global program end to end, which includes all stages of Product lifecycle.
- Extensive project management skills required.
