ANTICIPATED HIRING RANGE: Starting salary upon appointment is not expected to exceed $5,540 per month
CSU CLASSIFICATION SALARY RANGE: $5,540 - $7,893
PAY BASIS: Monthly

POSITION PURPOSE: The Educational Opportunity Program (EOP) Coordinator serves as a lead for the area and plays a pivotal role in providing holistic, student-centered support services to first-generation, low-income, and educationally disadvantaged students. Under the general direction of the Director of EOP, the Coordinator is responsible for planning, coordinating, and implementing key student success initiatives, including retention programming and transition support. The position requires the ability to work independently on complex assignments, use sound judgment in problem-solving, and provide guidance to students and staff. The Coordinator supports student academic achievement, personal development, and retention through proactive mentoring and coaching and collaboration with campus partners. The position also plays a vital role in the evaluation of services and helps ensure the alignment of EOP’s mission with CSU and institutional goals.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
Program Coordination & Student Success Initiatives
- Independent plan, coordinate and implement transition and retention programs such as First-Year Experience, and peer mentoring.
- Lead, develop, and coordinate EOP-related programming and events that are responsive to evolving student needs and institutional goals throughout the academic year.
- Plan and oversee workshops, seminars, and orientations for new and continuing EOP students, utilizing data-informed approaches.
- Provide daily lead direction and support to program personnel, student staff, peer mentors, and interns involved in EOP programming, ensuring quality and consistency in service delivery. Assign and monitor daily tasks, serve as a resource for guidance and training, and collaborate with the Director on staffing needs, scheduling, and input on performance evaluations as needed.
- Track and assess participation and outcomes for all student success initiatives and recommend program enhancements based on findings.
- Collaborate with faculty and staff across departments to develop and implement co-curricular programming aligned with student needs.
- Maintain program calendars, timelines, and event logistics in coordination with other campus units.
- Support strategic program marketing efforts and communication for EOP programs through print, email, and social media.
Assessment & Reporting
- Collect, analyze, and interpret student data to assess program effectiveness and inform continuous development and improvement.
- Assist in preparing departmental reports, annual program reviews, and grant proposals as needed that support the strategic direction of EOP.
- Maintain accurate and organized records of student interactions, program participation, and academic outcomes for compliance and planning.
- Coordinate with Institutional Research and other offices to compile data and reports for internal and external stakeholders.
- Support compliance with CSU and university policies regarding EOP services and student eligibility through regular review and evaluation of procedures.
- Assist the Director in developing and implementing strategic goals and policies for EOP.
- Participate in staff meetings, professional development opportunities, and campus committees as assigned.
