Maintenance Associate, YMCA Camp Classen

Description

The Maintenance Associate is responsible for ensuring that YMCA Camp Classen is a safe, clean, and fully functional facility ready to welcome campers and groups. This role involves practical groundskeeping, minor repairs, and general maintenance to support the mission of YMCA Camp Classen — To put Christian principles into practice that build a healthy mind, body, and spirit for all.

Key Responsibilities:

• Perform groundskeeping duties, including mowing, trimming, and general landscaping, to maintain a safe and attractive environment.
• Ensure the facility is clean, organized, and ready for use by campers and groups.
• Conduct routine maintenance such as changing air filters on HVAC systems, replacing light bulbs, and replacing smoke detector batteries.
• Assist with minor repairs and upkeep of facilities, equipment, and vehicles.
• Support safety protocols and ensure equipment is in good working condition.
• Report maintenance issues and coordinate with the Facility Director for necessary repairs or improvements.
• Assist in maintaining inventory of supplies and equipment.
• This position involves outdoor and indoor work, requiring physical activity and exposure to various weather conditions.

Requirements

 Qualifications:

• Strong work ethic with a passion for serving others and supporting the mission of YMCA Camp Classen.
• Basic knowledge of maintenance, groundskeeping, and minor repair techniques.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Good communication skills and attention to detail.
• Physical ability to perform groundskeeping and maintenance tasks, including lifting, bending, and outdoor work in various weather conditions.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Prior experience in maintenance, groundskeeping, or a related field.
• Knowledge of safety procedures and equipment operation.
• Demonstrated commitment to Christian principles and YMCA values.
