This role is crucial to supporting the development roadmap for JR NPI programs, ensuring the successful determination of manufacturing processes for new hip and knee products.</span></span><span> </span></p><p></p><p><b>What you will do</b></p><p><span><span>As a Senior Staff Engineer, you will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including division stakeholders, with a primary focus on shaping the product development </span><span>roadmap by driving</span><span> </span><span>AO </span><span>strategic priorities </span><span>to architect </span><span>the future </span><span>of </span><span>NPI</span><span> projects. </span><span>You will play a key role in de-risking process development activities</span><span> upfront</span><span> and focus on </span><span>identifying</span><span> innovative additive technologies and processes that differentiate our products</span><span> and</span><span> provide a competitive market advantage</span><span>.</span><span> </span><span>Additionally, this</span><span> role will focus on championing continuous improvement initiatives, and developing </span><span>engineers</span><span> to </span><span>enable</span><span> AO strategic priorities, ensuring that all efforts contribute to the overall success of JR's organizational goals.</span></span><span> </span></p><ul><li><p><b><span>Early Funnel Engagement:</span></b><span><span> </span><span>Lead initiatives to engage with Product Development and Commercial teams early in the product funnel to provide Design for Manufacturing (DFM) </span><span>expertise</span><span> and</span><span> </span><span>mitigate process development risks, ensuring a smooth transition to the technical NPI lead within the team once the project is chartered.</span></span><span> </span></p></li></ul><ul><li><p><b><span>Manufacturing Technology Evaluation:</span></b><span><span> </span></span><span><span>Drive the adoption and integration of advanced additive manufacturing technologies into both existing and new workflows, processes, and product lines within the JR Hip and Knee business units. This include</span><span>s</span><span>, i</span><span>mplementing </span><span>cutting-edge</span><span> technologies (e.g., additive manufacturing, automation, or advanced materials) to improve the efficiency, quality, and performance of hip and knee implants</span><span> and </span><span>identifying</span><span> and exploring new technological opportunities and innovations that enhance product offerings, </span><span>optimize</span><span> operational capabilities,</span><span> cost </span><span>efficiencies and margin expansion to</span><span> deliver a competitive market advantage.</span></span><span> </span></p></li></ul><ul><li><p><b><span>Strategic Framework Creation:</span></b><span><span> Develop and implement a framework within A</span><span>m</span><span>agine to guide early funnel engagement, ensuring strategic alignment and risk mitigation in collaboration with technology development teams.</span></span><span> </span></p></li></ul><ul><li><p><b><span>Collaboration and Leadership:</span></b><span><span> Serve as the primary point of contact for division stakeholders and </span><span>AMagine</span><span>, ensuring alignment on program strategies, risk management, and advanced technology integration.</span><span> </span></span><span> </span></p></li></ul><ul><li><p><b><span>Leadership & Mentorship: </span></b><span><span>Developing a Technical Development Framework to cultivate talent and support career growth within Advanced Operations.</span></span><span> </span></p></li></ul><p></p><p><b>What you will need</b></p><p><u>Essential</u></p><ul><li><span><span>B.S. in Mechanical Engineering or a related engineering discipline with 6+ years of experience; a related </span><span>Master's</span><span> degree with 4+ years of experience or a Ph.D. may be preferred.</span></span><span> </span></li><li><span><span>Continuous improvement mindset and capable of envisioning and implementing new and improved ways of achieving results.</span></span><span> </span></li><li><span><span>Proven experience in executing complex problem-solving techniques related to manufacturing and design issues, with strong instincts and sound judgment in mechanical and structural design.</span></span><span> </span></li><li><span><span>understanding of DFM principles, statistical tools, and <span>validation/verification</span> techniques.</span></span><span> </span></li><li><span><sp
