The Boeing CompanyBoeing Commercial Airplanes (BCA) is currently seeking a Decorative Paint Team Lead (Level C) to join our team in North Charleston, South Carolina on
D-Shift, Alternate Work Schedule (Weekends 5PM - 5:30AM).
In this role, the Team Lead will be responsible for leading and supporting the decorative paint team through pre-shift planning, crew meetings, team status updates, labor loss management, production control, training, process improvement, and Lean/BPS initiatives.

Position Responsibilities:
Perform complex production assembly operations on structural parts, mechanical assemblies, sub-assemblies, and aircraft systems, equipment, and accessories using manual or automated assembly tools
Build effective resource plans
Identify and communicate risks to First Line Leader
Update and communicate BPS metrics
Identify KPI improvement actions
Assign daily work
Lead team in daily safety check-in
Monitor and report daily progress to plan
Work with support organizations and First Line Leader to mitigate performance risk
Document and communicate shift turnover
Establish overtime requirements and staffing
Monitor and control 5S
Utilize Rapid Problem Solving (RPS) and coordinate with Line Side Control Center (LSCC) to address issues
Create standardized work instructions
Support teammates to improve their job performance including identifying training needs
Lead BPS process improvements
Lead Kamishibai audits and Gemba walks
Prepare exterior surface of aircraft for painting
Make necessary patterns, perform layout, and apply prescribed primers, paints, and finishes to exterior of aircraft
Apply aircraft finishes and external markings to aircraft sections
Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):
Able to work 3x12 hour days, 5PM - 5:30AM (Fri-Sat-Sun)
Minimum 1 year experience with the operations process involving the 787-airplane program
Must be willing to work assigned shift, including overtime
3+ years of painting experience in aircraft, automotive, industrial, or general painting
Required to wear fall protection gear, safety equipment, and masks
Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):
Team Lead experience
3+ years of painting experience in aircraft, automotive, industrial, or general painting
