This Manufacturing Engineer is assigned to Optical and Electronics products - responsible to support Product and Process Development, New Production Introduction, transition to Standard Production and Service/Repair Operations.

This role will be performed Onsite at our Collins Aerospace Location in Carlsbad, CA. 

What You Will Do 

• New Product and Process Development; full life cycle from prototype to rate production
• In process and/or product development
• Leading continuous improvement activities
• Development of Manufacturing Work Instructions
• Process characterization methods such as DMAIC, FMEA, DOE, SPC, Kaizen, and 8D
• Experience troubleshooting electronics and/or related processes
• Familiarity with working in a Quality Management System environment such as AS9100 or ISO9001
• Experience working with an Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) too

Qualifications You Must Have  

• Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) unless prohibited by local laws/regulations and minimum 5 years prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 3 years of experience or in absence of a degree, 9 years of relevant experience
• U.S. Person (U.S. citizen, permanent resident, or granted refugee or asylee status) as defined here:  https://www.ecfr.gov/current/title-22/chapter-I/subchapter-M/part-120/subpart-C/section-120.62

• Electrical Manufacturing Engineering experience
• Optics and Optical Assembly Manufacturing experience
